Was Judas saved?
by Dan Lirette
Many say Judas was a Believer who “lost” his Salvation…however, what DOES the Bible say?
John 6:70 :
Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?
Note the present tense of this statement from the Lord….one of you IS (not HAS) a devil.
This is more than a play on words, friend…Jesus said what he meant and meant what He said!
Note also how Jesus, when praying to the Father, speaks of Judas:
John 17:12
While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.
The words “son of perdition” are the key in understanding that Judas was not a “demonized Believer”...he was a FALSE convert and NEVER saved.
So, then, what does “son of perdition” show?
2 Thessalonians 2:3
Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition
Only the lost, such as the Antichrist of 2 Thessalonians, are termed “son of perdition”!
Judas wasn’t “demonized” as a BELIEVER; he was demonized by his father, the devil (John 8:44)!
Can the Spirit of God live/reside/be present near or beside evil?
Of course!
Yet, concerning the BELIEVER, satan DEMONIZING a believer is not possible as it’s off limits because of the All Powerful Blood of Jesus Christ!
Judas was the son of perdition, a term applied to the Antichrist....he was stealing from the treasury consistently....he was among the 12 yet Jesus made clear that he not not OF the Fold, as "one of you IS (present tense) a devil.
Those who teach Judas was a Believer are also stating, unknowingly, that Jesus Christ and satan can reside in the same temple!
Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
